Will Rogers is having an historic year at Mississippi State. On Saturday, he set the program records for passing yards and passing touchdowns in a single season. And it’s clear he isn’t done yet.

As the Bulldogs were rolling against Tennessee State, Rogers kept airing it out. With 9 minutes to go in the third quarter, he had thrown for 360 yards and 5 touchdowns. And he had been efficient, completing 25 of his 30 passing attempts.

Not only did Rogers break those records, but he also became the first QB in Mississippi State history to eclipse the 4,000-yard mark through the air in a season. The previous record belonged to Dak Prescott, who passed for 3,793 yards in 2015.

Rogers may end up well above 4,000 passing yards, too. Mississippi State still has 1 regular-season game remaining — the Egg Bowl matchup against Ole Miss on Thanksgiving night – and it will also have a bowl matchup after that.

How many passing yards will Rogers end up with? Could he even get close to 5,000? It should be fun to watch, as he and the Bulldogs likely still have some big offensive numbers to put up in 2021.
