Will Stein dismisses ‘lame takes’ about expanded College Football Playoff

The college football world was taken by storm late last week when it was announced that all the major players at the top of the sport had agreed to an expanded 24-team College Football Playoff format.
Fans, analysts, and coaches alike immediately took to social media and other more traditional outlets to weigh in, with many concerned the new format would make many regular-season matchups virtually pointless.
First-year Kentucky Wildcats head coach Will Stein isn’t buying that narrative, though, as he dismissed the “lame takes” about the regular season not mattering anymore when talking to reporters Tuesday morning.
“I think that’s a really lame take, to be honest,” Stein said when told about people saying the regular season won’t mattering anymore. “You telling me you don’t want a Playoff game at Kroger Field?”

The reality of the situation is that nobody really knows what effect the new 24-team format will end up having on the regular season until it is actually implemented, which will more than likely be next season.
That said, a home playoff game at Kroger Field in front of Big Blue Nation would be a sight to behold, and it looks like a real possibility given how quickly Stein has turned the program around.
