Will Stein hypes up Kentucky crowd ahead of SEC opener vs. Alabama

Earlier this week, Kentucky Wildcats head coach Will Stein encouraged his fanbase to get quite rowdy during today’s game versus the Alabama Crimson Tide. This morning, he did his best to get the ball rolling.
Stein joined SEC Nation ahead of this afternoon’s kickoff. While on set, he stood on a chair and led a CATS chant for the Kentucky crowd.

Stein has been working his tail off to get Big Blue Nation riled up for this game. In addition to calling into Kentucky Sports Radio, he has brought Tim Couch and Craig Yeast — the men who delivered the Wildcats’ 1997 win over Alabama — back to Lexington as honorary captains for the game.
Today, Kenny Minchey takes on the Tim Couch role in Kentucky’s upset efforts. That would put Stein in Hal Mumme’s chair. The best contender for Yeast’s spot seems to be Kenny Darby, who led the Wildcats with 74 receiving yards in last week’s 45-13 win against Youngstown State. Mikkel Skinner and Willie Rodriguez (four receptions apiece) should also be key cogs in the passing attack.
The Crimson Tide opened the week as 10.5-point favorites over the Wildcats. When they take the field this afternoon, though, that fact will be irrelevant. Alabama and Kentucky kick off at 3:30 p.m. E.T. (ABC).
