Will Wade announces staff changes after Tony Benford’s departure for TCU

LSU assistant coach Tony Benford took over for Will Wade last season when Wade was suspended for the final game of the regular season and the entire postseason.

After the season, though, Benford let to become an assistant at TCU, leaving Wade with a position to fill on his staff.

On Wednesday, Wade announced that former LSU star Tasmin Mitchell had been hired to fill Benford’s spot:

Mitchell played for the Tigers from 2005 to 2010, starting 136 of the 137 games he appeared in. He averaged 14.5 points, 6.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.4 steals per game.

Wade also announced that current assistant coach Greg Heiar was moving up to take Benford’s spot as associate head coach:
