The Big 12 features some of the best men’s basketball teams in the country. Houston, Kansas, Baylor, Texas Tech, Arizona and others are perennially among the top teams in the nation.
Football, on the other hand, is a different story. Texas Tech, with its infusion of NIL money, has been a power in recent years on the gridiron, making the 2025 College Football Playoff field. We have them projected to make the 2026 Playoff, too, even with the suspension of QB Brendan Sorsby.
The Big 12 now features 16 teams, ranging from UCF and West Virginia in the east to the Arizona schools in the west, with plenty of Texas and Midwest flavor in between.
