The first round of the 2026 NBA Draft is in the books. 5 SEC players heard their names called during the opening round.
Unsurprisingly, the SEC Player of the Year was the first player from the conference to be drafted. Arkansas star Darius Acuff Jr. was taken No. 7 overall by the Sacramento Kings.

Acuff was the only SEC player to go in the top 10 of the 2026 draft. Coming off a standout season at Tennessee, Nate Ament was next off the board. Here’s the full list:
- No. 7 — Arkansas G Darius Acuff Jr. (Sacramento Kings)
- No. 13 — Tennessee F Nate Ament (Milwaukee Bucks, via Miami Heat)
- No. 15 — Texas G Dailyn Swain (Chicago Bulls)
- No. 20 — Kentucky F Jayden Quaintance (San Antonio Spurs)
- No. 22 — Alabama G Labaron Philon (Philadelphia 76ers)
The 2026 NBA Draft continues on Wednesday with Round 2. Meleek Thomas, Ja’Kobi Gillespie, Felix Okpara, Trevon Brazile, Tyler Nickel and others will hope to learn their new teams.
