Former Arkansas guard Isaiah Joe, who spent the last 4 seasons in Oklahoma City playing for the Thunder, has been traded to the Detroit Pistons. According to a report from Shams Charania, the Thunder will receive a pair of 2nd round picks in return for the veteran guard.

Joe will play in a backcourt that includes Cade Cunningham and Duncan Robinson next season, with rookie guard Ebuka Okorie also entering the fray after being selected in the first round a few days ago. Joe’s addition provides even more experience and a strong shooting threat for a Pistons team that is attempting to break through to a title.

Joe was drafted initially by the Philadelphia 76ers after 2 strong seasons in Fayetteville. He was taken with the 49th overall pick and initially struggled to carve out a role with Philly. He was waived and picked up by the Thunder, where he immediately began to contribute.

This last season was Joe’s best. He averaged 11.1 points per game and thrived as a spot-up shooter at 42.3% from 3, with low turnover numbers. Primarily playing a reserve role for one of the best teams in basketball, Joe started 9 games last season.

Let’s see what the former Razorback can do heading into Year 7.
