Cleveland Browns announce former Tennessee RB Dylan Sampson to miss multiple games

The Cleveland Browns had unfortunate news to share on Tuesday about former Tennessee running back Dylan Sampson.
Sampson is going on injured reserve. He sustained a knee injury in the season opener on Sunday at Jacksonville.

Sampson’s IR designation means he will miss at least 4 games. Reports, however, indicate that it might be even longer before he returns to the field. Jeremy Fowler of ESPN shared Monday evening that Sampson is “expected to miss significant time.”

Sampson is in Year 2 of his pro career. Cleveland selected him in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
In 16 games, Sampson has recorded 65 rushes for 165 yards. He has also been used in the passing game, logging 33 receptions for 271 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Sampson played at Tennessee from 2022-24. He was named the SEC Offensive Player of the Year and a second-team All-American in 2024 after rushing for 1,485 yards and 22 touchdowns.
