The Dallas Cowboys made headlines on Tuesday afternoon when they released former Alabama Crimson Tide standout and All-Pro defensive back Trevon Diggs after 6 seasons with the team.
The move came just several days before the Cowboys’ season finale on Sunday against the New York Giants, a season that saw Dallas field one of the worst passing defenses in the entire league.
Diggs played a big part in the Cowboys’ shortcomings in 2025, but it hasn’t taken him long to find a new home, as NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported on Wednesday that Diggs has joined the playoff-bound Green Bay Packers.
A 4-star recruit in the 2016 recruiting cycle, Diggs played for the Crimson Tide from 2016-2019, becoming a first-team All-SEC selection in his senior season before being selected in the second round of the 2020 draft by Dallas.
Diggs quickly blossomed into one of the best corners in the NFL during his first few seasons with the Cowboys, being named to 2 Pro Bowls and earning a first-team All-Pro selection, but he’s fallen off over the past few seasons due to injuries.
The 2025 season has probably been the worst of his pro career thus far, but a change of scenery may be exactly what he needs to find his groove again.
