The Tennessee Titans beat the Indianapolis Colts 26-20 in Week 6 to pick up their first victory of the 2026 season. They dealt with some in-house adversity prior to that contest. On Tuesday, news of exactly what unfolded hit the timeline.

On Tuesday, the Titans released defensive tackle Jordan Elliott. The move stems from an incident on Thursday, Oct. 15. According to AtoZSports’ Easton Freeze and KPRC2 Houston’s Aaron Wilson, Elliott and offensive tackle JC Latham had an altercation during practice. Afterward, Elliott went out to his car and retrieved a firearm, presumably to confront Latham.

Veteran defensive tackle John Franklin-Myers talked Elliott, who has reportedly been dealing with some personal issues, into standing down and not further escalating things. The entire situation was captured on the team’s security cameras.

Elliott, 28, was a third-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. The former Missouri Tiger posted 31 tackles and one tackle for loss for the San Francisco 49ers in 2025. He signed a two-year, $8 million contract with the Titans this offseason. Latham, the player Elliott was ready to confront, was Tennessee’s first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft (No. 7 overall).

The Titans host the Cleveland Browns in Week 7.
