Former Mizzou edge rusher Johnny Walker Jr.’s rookie season has come to an end before he got to play a down.
The Denver Broncos recently placed Walker on injured reserve after the former Tiger suffered a lower-body injury in camp. Walker is out for the 2025 season.
Walker landed in Denver as an undrafted free agent, but the Broncos were high on the former Mizzou standout. Mike Klis of 9NEWS noted that Walker had the largest signing bonus and guarantee of the team’s undrafted signees.

Over 5 seasons, Walker played in 40 games with 25 starts for Mizzou. He left Columbia with 103 career tackles, including 26 TFLs and 18.5 sacks. Walker also logged 15 QB pressures, 6 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery and 1 pass breakup.
A 2024 team captain, Walker was a second-team All-SEC selection in his final year. He started all 13 games, and logged a career-high 11 tackles against Arkansas.
We’ll see if Walker can pick up where he left off next year.
