Jeffery Simmons traded to new NFL team in blockbuster deal, per reports
Jeffery Simmons has been an impactful player for the Tennessee Titans since entering the NFL. As the No. 19 pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, it took him time to develop into a full-fledged superstar. Now, Simmons is a four-time Pro Bowler and reigning first-team All-Pro who’s packing his bags.
Thursday morning, The Ringer’s Tom Pelissero reported the Titans traded Simmons to the Chicago Bears. The Monsters of the Midway are giving Tennessee a 2027 first-round pick, 2028 first-round pick and 2027 fourth-round pick in exchange for the former Mississippi State star and a 2028 fifth-round selection.
The Bears are sending two first-round picks and a fourth-rounder to the Titans for Jeff Simmons. A monster deal.

Simmons, 29, has made 38 tackles, six tackles for loss and four sacks through seven games in 2026. He signed a three-year, $105.9 million contract extension in June that will now keep him in Chicago through the 2030 season. He joins a Bears team with one of the NFL’s most prolific offenses, led by head coach Ben Johnson and quarterback Caleb Williams.
In 2025, the Bears — in Johnson’s first season at the helm — won the NFC North and took the Los Angeles Rams to overtime in the NFC Divisional Round. Chicago’s defense currently ranks last in the NFL in yards allowed per play (6.3) and 30th in net yards per pass attempt (7.4).
Simmons gives the Bears a true difference-maker up front and makes them a legitimate Super Bowl contender. Chicago faces the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football in Week 8.
