Michael Irvin, who was reportedly pulled from media appearances following allegation, says ‘I’m a bit baffled’

Michael Irvin was pulled from multiple media appearances this week in Arizona ahead of the Super Bowl, according to multiple reports, including Front Office Sports.
Previously, the NFL Network pulled Irvin from its coverage, and Front Office Sports reported that Irvin’s appearance on ESPN’s “First Take” on Friday were also canceled following a misconduct allegation from a woman earlier this week.
“Michael Irvin will not be a part of NFL Network’s Super Bowl LVII week coverage,” said Alex Riethmiller, NFL Media vice president of communications, in a statement, per the Dallas Morning News.
The Washington Post reported that the exact nature of the encounter is unknown, and a Glendale police spokesperson told The Post on Wednesday there “have been no police reports made or received by local law enforcement agencies regarding any crimes.”
Details of the alleged incident were not revealed by the woman, or NFL Media, but Irvin told the Dallas Morning News that he doesn’t remember any issues with the encounter with the woman, only that they shook hands and spoke for less than a minute in the hotel lobby.
“Honestly, I’m a bit baffled with it all,” Irvin told the Morning News. “This all happened in a 45-second conversation in the lobby. When I got back after going out … I came into the lobby, and I talked to somebody. I talked to this girl. I don’t know her, and I talked to her for about 45 seconds. We shook hands. Then, I left. … That’s all I know.
“I don’t really recall that conversation, to tell you the truth. We were out drinking. It was just a friendly conversation. ‘What’s up?’ I don’t even know. … I am totally perplexed.”
