LSU is looking to get things rolling with Lane Kiffin, and the former Ole Miss coach isn’t scared to do something controversial to give his team the best chance to win. With many players across the country being given a 5th year of eligibility, many players currently on NFL rosters are looking at coming back to college.
The Tigers have been tied to former Ole Miss tight end Dae’Quan Wright, who was recently waived by the Cleveland Browns. On Monday, it was reported that another former Ole Miss player, Zxavian Harris, who was with the Saints this summer, is also close to a deal with LSU.
Harris was a rarity in today’s college football, as he stayed all four years at the same school. During his time at Ole Miss, he finished with 122 tackles, 5.5 sacks, and 1 interception. Last year was his best season, as he had 58 tackles and 3 sacks.
He spent the summer with the New Orleans Saints, but he was waived on Aug. 8.
The college football season is just around the corner, and there are many teams across the country bringing in guys who were on NFL rosters. Kiffin and his team will take the field in 12 days at home against Clemson in a rematch of last year’s road win for LSU.
