Ryan Silverfield voices frustration after Arkansas’ shaky first half performance

The Ryan Silverfield era has officially begun in Fayetteville, as the Arkansas Razorbacks got the 2026 season started with a game against North Alabama. The Razorbacks have been struggling the past few years, and Silverfield was brought in to get things going back on the right track. Despite the Razorbacks having a 14-0 lead at the half, Silverfield was extremely disappointed with how his team performed in the first 30 minutes.
“What an awful, awful first half offensively,” Silverfield said. “Probably one of the worst I’ve ever been associated with. Not clean at all, self-inflicted wounds, absolutely terrible. That’s on me. I’ll get it fixed.”
Silverfield has been successful wherever he has been as a coach and has standards and expectations that he has for his team.
The Razorbacks have a brutal next 2 weeks at Utah and at home against Georgia, and Silverfield knows that making mistakes in those games will put his team in a major issue. This isn’t going to be a 1-game or a 2-game fix; it is going to take multiple seasons to get things rolling in Fayetteville.
Silverfield, with that press conference, is laying the foundation that average will not be accepted, and there will always be room for improvement.
