The NFL Combine is set to go down in Indianapolis this week with NFL Draft hopefuls looking to make their case at the event.

Like most years, all eyes will be on the quarterback group during workouts. On Monday, NFL insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reported on what fans can expect this year.

From the group of draft-eligible quarterbacks, Alabama QB Bryce Young is among the favorites to be selected with the No. 1 overall pick. According to Rapoport and Pelissero, Young will meet with teams but will not throw at the combine, opting to wait for Alabama’s pro day instead.

Out of the SEC, Florida’s Anthony Richardson and Kentucky’s Will Levis will reportedly throw at the combine while Richardson plans to do all testing and drills in addition to his throwing.

Young’s reported decision to not throw generated a mixed reaction from fans:

Potential impact for Bryce Young

At the end of the day, Young’s decision to wait on throwing is unlikely to sway any team considering him with a top-5 pick in the draft. The bigger thing teams considering Young are likely more interested in are his measurables, but Saturday Down South’s Connor O’Gara makes the case Young’s tape should put to bed any concerns of his size.

There’s also the Monday morning report indicating the Chicago Bears are moving in the direction of dealing the No. 1 overall pick. While it’s not a guarantee, any team trading into the first spot would likely do so to select a QB with Young’s name prominently in the mix.
