Notre Dame will hit the road as the Fighting Irish look to bounce back from last week’s crushing upset as they take on the Purdue.

ESPN’s Football Power Index (FPI) makes the Fighting Irish a significant favorite in this game. Per the model, Notre Dame has a 73.3% chance of defeating Purdue on the road this weekend. That means the odds for a Boilermaker upset is just 26.7%.

The market more-or-less agrees with FPI’s projection. Per DraftKings, Notre Dame is currently a 12.5-point favorite.

The Fighting Irish had one of the biggest wins in Week 1, as they went and defeated Texas A&M in College Station. However, they followed that up with one of the worst losses in the history of the program by losing to Northern Illinois, 16-14. The offense of Notre Dame has been a big issue in both of its games, and that unit will have to get things going if the Irish are going to get back into Playoff contention.

Purdue is 1-0 on the season after starting the season with a 49-0 win against Indiana State. Quarterback Hudson Card was tremendous in the game, as he went 24-of-25 for 273 yards and 4 touchdowns. The Boilermakers will be coming off an early-season bye week, so we’ll see if that plays a role in this matchup.

These two teams have played each other many times with the Fighting Irish leading the all-time series, 57-26-2. The Fighting Irish have won the last 8 matchups.

Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday afternoon.
