Oklahoma linebacker Dasan McCullough is set to enter the transfer portal this offseason, according to a report.
That’s per On3’s Hayes Fawcett, who notes that McCullough will have 1 year of eligibility remaining. He’s been a big part of Oklahoma’s defense over the past 2 seasons in Norman.
In 2 years at Oklahoma, McCullough totaled 47 tackles and 7 tackles for loss. He was a part-time starter over the course of his 2 seasons with the Sooners, but also dealt with his fair share of injury troubles.
This is a significant loss for a defense that’s expected to lose several key players to graduation and the NFL Draft. Safety Billy Bowman, linebacker Danny Stutsman and defensive lineman Ethan Downs are all expected to move on to the next level after this year, amongst others.
McCullough was a huge transfer addition for the Sooners ahead of the 2023 campaign. He committed to Oklahoma after earning freshman all-America honors at Indiana in 2022. He joined Oklahoma alongside his brother, Daeh McCullough, who now plays for Louisville. Their father, Deland McCullough, is the running backs coach at Notre Dame.
McCullough will have 1 season remaining at his next destination.
