Running back Deuce McAllister made a name for himself in Mississippi. The back rushed for 3,181 yards and 38 touchdowns in 3 seasons at Ole Miss before being drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the first round of the 2001 NFL Draft.

McAllister went on to have an eight-season NFL career — all with the Saints — and rushed for more than 1,000 yards in a season 4 times. He had a great NFL career, but none of it would have been possible without his time at Ole Miss. Presumably, his upbringing and time playing football at Morton High School in Morton, Mississippi, also played a big role in his success as well.

Because Morton is about 30 minutes from Jackson, Mississippi, McAllister decided to contribute to help with the ongoing water crisis in Jackson. The city of 150,000 residents is under a boil-water advisory following major complications from the main water treatment plant.

So McAllister partnered with the Saints to deliver 38,000 bottles of water on Tuesday.
