John Rhys Plumlee is off to a good start in the 2023 season.

The former Ole Miss quarterback led UCF down the field with ease for a touchdown on the opening drive of the season. He capped off the drive with a beautiful throw while he was being hit to score.

On the next drive, Plumlee picked up another touchdown, taking one in from 17 yards out to score on the ground.

The Golden Knights have a quick 7-0 lead over Kent State and Plumlee already has 50 passing yards to go along with 55 yards on the ground. It’s safe to say its a fast start in his second season with UCF.

Last year, Plumlee recorded 2,586 yards and 14 touchdowns as he led the Golden Knights to a 9-5 finish with an appearance in the Military Bowl against Duke. He’s looking to keep that success going this season.

Plumlee spent 3 seasons at Ole Miss, but never got significant playing time. He transferred to UCF in 2022 and has since made a name for himself in the AAC.
