With less than two weeks before National Signing Day arrives, Ole Miss may find a way to significantly boost its recruiting class while hurting one of its division rivals.

On Friday, the nation’s No. 1 junior college linebacker and No. 3 overall junior college prospect Lakia Henry announced he plans to be in Oxford this weekend. Henry, a former Tennessee commit, is also considering Arkansas, Florida State and Texas heading into National Signing Day. Rated as a four-star prospect by 247Sports Composite Rankings, Henry is one of the nation’s highest-rated prospects in the nation that has yet to sign in the 2019 recruiting cycle.

“Oxford Mississippi This Weekend,” he wrote on Twitter on Friday.

Ole Miss has only signed two linebackers (Ashanti Cistrunk and Eric Jeffries) thus far in the 2019 recruiting cycle, so a late pick up from a player of Henry’s caliber would be a huge boost for the program come signing day.

Considering Arkansas is desperate for help at linebacker, the Razorbacks are after both Henry and Tennessee linebacker prospect Chris Russell, the Rebels have a chance to really damage the Razorbacks defensive recruiting efforts if they can impress Henry over the weekend.
