Ole Miss got its first SEC win of the season on Saturday against Arkansas in Little Rock but it came at a heavy price.

During his Monday media availability, Matt Luke announced receiver D.K. Metcalf has been lost for the season due to a neck injury.

“D.K. Metcalf hurt his neck, and it is worse than we originally thought,” Luke revealed on Monday. “He’ll be done for the season…Long-term, he’ll bounce back and he’ll be fine. We’ll make sure he gets the very best care.”

Metcalf was having a great season for the Rebels as he had hauled in 26 catches for 569 yards and five touchdowns in seven games this season. In his three-year career at Ole Miss, Metcalf has 67 catches for 1,228 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Metcalf is an Oxford native and was named to the SEC All-Freshman Team as a redshirt sophomore in 2017.
