What Matt Luke had to say following his team's loss to LSU
LSU remains the SEC’s only undefeated team but Ole Miss made the Tigers earn that distinction Saturday night in Oxford.
In the end, the Tigers beat the Rebels 58-37 but Ole Miss managed to put up 614 total yards of offense, including 402 rushing yards on LSU’s defense.
The star of the game for the Rebels was freshman quarterback John Rhys Plumlee, who rushed for 212 yards and four scores in addition to 123 passing yards. Jerrion Ealy added another 141 rushing yards.
After watching the film, Ole Miss will have to go back to the drawing board on the defensive side of the ball, as Joe Burrow passed for 489 yards and five touchdowns in this game. The Rebels did manage to intercept Burrow twice, which did give them some life in the second half.
Following the loss to LSU, Matt Luke offered the following comments on the game courtesy of SDS’s Brad Logan:
"We didn't play very well in the first half. Got the run game going in the 2nd half and able to get it to a one score game. We had a good game plan going in, wish we could have gotten it going in the first half," Ole Miss QB Matt Luke with Richard Cross

"It's hard to put into words what these guys have been through. They are a resilient bunch and I am personally grateful for them," Luke
