Matt Luke’s contract details released by Ole Miss
Ole Miss has found the next head coach of the Rebels in Matt Luke.
The report initially surfaced Sunday that Luke would receive the full-time position after serving as the interim coach this season. The details of a contract were then announced Monday with Luke and Ole Miss agreeing to a four-year deal.
The Rebels did have an up-and-down season under Luke but found a way to finish the year with a 6-6 record. That is a solid performance considering Hugh Freeze’s departure and the season-ending injury to starting QB Shea Patterson midseason. Ole Miss finished off the year with a 31-28 upset of in-state rival Mississippi State.
David Brandt shared the numbers for Luke’s contract on Twitter:
Ole Miss coach Matt Luke's contract is worth $12.6 million over 4 years, starting with $3 million next year.
