Media reacts to Ole Miss reportedly firing Matt Luke
Ole Miss decided to move on from Matt Luke after the Rebels lost the Egg Bowl on Thanksgiving, 21-20, after a missed extra point attempt following an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty against Elijah Moore. Moore crawled to the back of the end zone and appeared to pee like a dog after scoring a touchdown.
The news of Luke’s firing was reported on Sunday night.
Ole Miss finished 4-8 this season and 2-6 in the SEC. He was 15-21 in 3 seasons in Oxford.

I did not think Matt Luke was getting fired but stuff changes. In retrospect, losing your biggest rivalry game due to a dog pee penalty isn’t great for job security https://t.co/QmflRGnzyY

If they do fire Matt Luke, just go ahead and build the statue now. pic.twitter.com/WUzEIrfPQQ

One of Arkansas, Missouri or Ole Miss should hire Bill Clark. This isn’t real hard.

Whoever Ole Miss hires will have to play the current No. 1, No. 8, No. 9, No. 10 and No. 11 in his first seven games. Yikes.

Another opening in the SEC. Luke seems like a good guy, who loved Ole Miss, but had to jump on the Hugh Freeze grenade. https://t.co/rg0H2TECj2
