Ole Miss has gone from far down in the poll to out completely after the College Football Playoff selection committee released its second poll of the season Tuesday.

The Rebels didn’t make the top 25 thanks to a third loss in seven weeks last week, a wacky 53-52 overtime loss to Arkansas in Oxford. In the first poll released last week, Ole Miss was No. 18.

The SEC had two teams in the top four of the first poll, LSU at No. 2 and Alabama at No. 4. Alabama beat LSU 30-16 Saturday night in Tuscaloosa. Alabama is up to No. 2 now, LSU fell to No. 9. Florida is at No. 11, dropping a spot after a narrow win over Vanderbilt, and Mississippi State is No. 17.

The Rebels have a bye this week and then finish the season with tough SEC games at home against LSU and on the road at Mississippi State.

The Rebels (7-3) have been ranked as high as No. 3 in the Associated Press poll, but tumbled into the 20s after losses to Florida (6-1) and Memphis (7-0). They were ranked No. 19 in both the AP poll and the Coaches Poll last week before the Arkansas loss but fell out of both polls on Sunday.
