The Ole Miss Rebels were able to score a memorable win over No. 3 Alabama on the same day five of the top eight teams in last week’s AP Poll fell, leaving plenty of room for the Rebels to slide up in the polls following their historic victory.

Ole Miss did just that, moving all the way up to No. 4 in Sunday’s Amway Coaches’ Poll. They slid up to No. 3 in the new Associated Press Poll, but are tied in that spot with cross-state rival Mississippi State, which beat a top 10 Texas A&M team on Saturday.

This week represents the Rebels’ highest ranking in either poll so far this season, as they are one of three SEC West teams ranked in the top 10 and one of seven SEC teams ranked in the top 25 of both polls.

The Rebels now turn the page from the win over Alabama as they begin preparation for next week’s game against No. 14 Texas A&M, which fell in the polls following a loss to Mississippi State. Alabama dropped all the way to No. 7 in the AP Poll following its defeat at the hands of Ole Miss.
