Kermit Davis will be back for another season at Ole Miss, after he led the Rebels to a 13-19 record this past season.

Jeff Goodman of Stadium reported that Davis will be back for a fifth season in 2022-23, as he stands with a 64-61 record so far in his Ole Miss tenure. The Rebels made the NCAA Tournament in 2018-19, but have not made the Big Dance since.

Ole Miss lost to Missouri last week in the SEC Tournament.

Davis last week addressed his job security, and took an optimistic spin to it.

Davis was confident he’ll be coaching the Rebels for 2022-23 after he talked with Ole Miss athletic director Keith Carter.

“I have conversations,” Davis told reporters. “I know exactly … I’ve got an unbelievable AD. He was a big part of the process with Ross (Bjork) when they hired me 4 years ago. We’ve been to the 2 postseasons in 4 years, and I thought we were an NCAA tournament team last year…

“It’s a big boy league, and I get it, but I’ve got a great AD. We’re going to work day and night to get this thing flipped next year, and they’ve given us every resource to be successful at Ole Miss, so it’s right on us. We’re going to go out and put together a roster that the Ole Miss fans can be proud of, and we’re going to be right here next year hopefully playing for seeding in the NCAA Tournament and having a great chance to win a national.”
