Pooh Paul was a well-known and coveted linebacker in the transfer portal, and the former Arkansas linebacker stayed in the SEC with his commitment on Friday night.

Paul announced on Instagram that he committed to Ole Miss.

The 6-1, 233-pound linebacker committed to Ole Miss only hours after the start of his official visit in Oxford. Paul was the nation’s No. 1 rated transfer portal linebacker, according to 247Sports.

The veteran linebacker made 74 tackles with 6.5 tackles for loss and 2 sacks this past season. He was named to the Butkus Award watchlist and earned Freshman All-American and First-Team All SEC Honors during his time at Arkansas.

Overall with the Razorbacks, Paul made 137 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, 6 sacks and 1 forced fumble.

Last year, Paul played in all 13 games, and started the final 2 games of the season, and made 62 tackles along with 8 tackles for loss, 4 sacks, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.

Paul is from Cordele, Georgia, and was a 3-star recruit coming out of high school.

Because Paul redshirted in 2022, he will have 2 years of eligibility remaining at Ole Miss.
