To say the last year has been a tumultuous one for Ole Miss is an understatement.

Off-the-field issues in regards to personnel, as well as a litany of NCAA violations — and allegations — have been percolating in and around the program.

On Thursday, Pat Forde of Yahoo released a piece speaking about an on-going NCAA investigation surrounding the program. NCAA enforcement agents have reportedly begun interviewing players at multiple SEC West schools (Auburn, Mississippi State) that were recruited by Ole Miss in high school.

In response to this report, Mississippi head coach Hugh Freeze ‘knew nothing about the article’ until he saw it published on Thursday.

In terms of an on the field issue, senior OL Jeremy Liggins will not play in the opener against Florida State.

A former jumbo quarterback and tight end, Liggins was projected to backup the left tackle position for the Rebels. He was ruled out of the opener due to a violation of team standards.
