Report: Ole Miss giving each game a name and deemed a 'bowl game' in 2017
Ole Miss is banned from going to a postseason game for 2017, but that’s not stopping Hugh Freeze and his staff from giving his players the opportunity to play in “bowl games.”
Rebels players always have the Egg Bowl with Mississippi State to look forward to, but this fall, they won’t have to wait until the final week of the season.
Next season, each football game will be given a name and deemed a "bowl game," per #OleMiss' AD Ross Bjork

On the SEC Network broadcast of Ole Miss’ spring game, it was mentioned that the players would vote on the names for the games. The Rebels take on their traditional schedule of all SEC West opponents, permanent SEC East rival Vanderbilt, cross-division rotation opponent Kentucky and four non-conference games, headlined by a trip to Cal in Week 3.
Rival fan bases are likely to have plenty to say if Ole Miss follows through on naming giving non-conference contests against South Alabama, UT Martin and UL Lafayette a “bowl” name, but the indications of the above report and the broadcast are that all games will receive the designation.
