Kermit Davis just landed a big win on the recruiting trail as Samford transfer Robert Allen has picked Ole Miss over Mississippi State, Illinois State and New Mexico.

Allen announced his commitment on Twitter.

At this time, Allen is scheduled to sit out next season due to NCAA transfer rules as he has yet to earn his undergraduate degree. However, if the NCAA passes the one-time transfer waiver, Allen will be eligible to play for Ole Miss next season.

The 6-foot-8 forward averaged 14.1 points, seven rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.3 blocks per game for Samford last season.

Ole Miss went 15-17 last season and 6-12 in conference play in Davis’ second season leading the program.
