Robert Griffin III receives criticism for ‘Jesus on the cross’ reference
Robert Griffin III made a bizarre reference late in the LSU-Ole Miss matchup.
LSU QB Jayden Daniels was sacked by a couple of Ole Miss defenders, and Griffin had a distasteful analogy for the play.
“They lifted that man up to the sky like he was Jesus, letting him know they were gonna put him on the cross right there.”
It drew immediate reaction on social media, as viewers noticed it and commented to criticize the statement.

Naturally, many viewers noticed the strange statement and took to social media to call it out.
“They raised that man to the sky like Jesus, like they were gonna put him on the cross right there..”

Did RG3 just say Jayden Daniels is Jesus, and Ole Miss nailed him to the cross?

RG3 needs to get off the air. Just used a Jesus on the cross reference.
This has been an awful performance.

RG3 gets a little too excited at the LSU game, said Ole Miss surrounded the QB like they were gonna put Jesus on the cross…

“Lifting him up like he’s Jesus and they’re going to put him on the cross.” My goodness someone give RG3 some milk and melatonin.

Naturally, most were in agreement that Griffin’s statement was bizarre and distasteful.
However, the game that Griffin was calling will perhaps go down as the most entertaining game of the year. The Rebels defeated the Tigers 55-49 in Oxford.
