Carlton Davis and Jamel Dean will always be tied together as teammates at Auburn.

But the two are now a big part of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers secondary and Davis couldn’t help but throw a big shout out at his brother in the defensive backfield and the adversity he has overcome.

“He had two knee surgeries and they told him he wouldn’t play,” Davis said of Dean. “They said he had like a 20 percent, 10 percent chance to play…and that was back in college. But look at him now, he’s a rising star for sure.”

Davis was a second-round pick (63rd overall) for the Bucs in the 2018 Draft. He was a second-team All-American and first-team All-SEC performer in 2017 with Auburn.

Dean was third-round pick (94th overall) for the Bucs in the 2019 Draft.

Both players were part of the Bucs team that won Super Bowl LV in 2020. This way Tampa Bay hosts the Green Bay Packers in their home opener.
