This year, the SEC is a logjam. Auburn, at 21-2 overall and 9-1 in SEC play, is atop the conference standings, but behind the Tigers are several more competitive teams.

The SEC is deeper than it has been in years, which means the conference will be well-represented when the NCAA Tournament rolls around in March.

In fact, according to ESPN bracketology expert Joe Lunardi, eight SEC teams are currently projected to make the tourney as of Monday:

  • No. 2 seed — Auburn
  • No. 4 seed — Tennessee
  • No. 5 seed — Kentucky
  • No. 8 seed — Florida
  • No. 9 seed — Alabama
  • No. 9 seed — Texas A&M
  • No. 10 seed — Mizzou
  • No. 10 seed — Arkansas

Of course, with about a month left in the regular season and conference tournaments still left to be played, these rankings will shift around a lot.

However, when Selection Sunday comes around, it’s safe to say there will be plenty of SEC squads in the tourney for fans to watch.
