Prepare to see the number 76,355,427 on the next round of Alabama recruiting materials. That’s how much former UA players will make on their rookie deals in the NFL. It’s more than any other school for this year’s draft class.

Details of the actual contract have to be figured out and finalized, but the total value of those contracts is set by draft position, which allowed AL.com’s Mark Inabinett to do the math and figure out which schools can brag about their former players bringing in the big bucks. Inabinett calculated the top 20 schools, which included five from the SEC.

  • No. 1 – Alabama, $76,355,427
  • No. 3 – Georgia, $53,936,963
  • No. 14 – LSU, $25,122,356
  • No. 15 – Florida, $23,269,089
  • No. 17 – Auburn, $20,863,657

It’s safe to expect all five schools use these numbers as part of the pitch on the recruiting trail, though as usual, the Crimson Tide get to boast of being No. 1. The largest values come from a combination of having high a number of both total draftees and early first-round selections. The higher the pick, the bigger the contract (obviously). Alabama checks both boxes with 12 overall draftees including four first-round picks.
