Which college football teams managed Saturday’s 25 best performances?

Several came from Playoff contenders including one from an underrated elite coached by a former SEC two-time national champion.

Editor’s note: This is not a real poll and is a ranking of teams based on Saturday’s results only. We’ve included the actual Week 11 AP Top 25 for comparison.

Here’s how the AP TOP 25 should’ve looked based on Week 11 performances ONLY

1. ALABAMA — The Crimson Tide’s best win of the season

2. Ohio State — So much for the Big Ten’s Playoff hopes. Quarterback J.T. Barrett and Buckeyes put 49 points on the board at Michigan State, posting their best win of the 2014 campaign under Urban Meyer.

3. TCU — The Horned Frogs’ fourth win over a ranked team this season was one of their most impressive as they snapped Kansas State’s five-game winning streak by three touchdowns.

4. TEXAS A&M — The Aggies got no respect in Sunday’s rankings, but their thrilling win at Auburn proved this team still has enough talent to wreck a contender’s season. Even with three losses (all to ranked teams), Texas A&M’s no pushover.

5. Oregon

6. Arizona State — After building a 31-point lead in the first half, the Sun Devils held off a furious rally against Notre Dame to score the final 21 points during a 55-31 win.

7. Baylor

8. Florida State — Another ho-hum effort from the Seminoles who overcame two Jameis Winston interceptions to win their 25th straight game.

9. OLE MISS — Playing their first game without Laquon Treadwell, the Rebels snapped a two-game losing skid with relative ease thanks to a season-high 402 yards on the ground against Presbyterian.

11. MISSISSIPPI STATE — College football’s top-ranked team and current SEC favorite made quick work of UT-Martin, the final creampuff on this year’s slate. Next weekend’s showdown at Alabama is the most important game in Mississippi St. football history.

12. Texas — It’s been a disappointing year for the Longhorns during Charlie Strong’s inaugural season, but a a 33-16 win over 23rd-ranked West Virginia shows this team is continuing to fight.

13. LSU — Had it not been for Anthony Jennings’ mediocre outing at quarterback, the Tigers may have knocked off Alabama. LSU took the lead in the final minute of regulation before the Crimson Tide’s heroic game-tying drive and go-ahead touchdown pass in overtime.

17. Louisville — Rebounding from a loss to Florida State, Bobby Petrino’s squad forced four turnovers during an important ACC win at Boston College.

19. Minnesota — One of the nation’s most underrated teams won their seventh game, a 51-14 pasting of Iowa.

22. FLORIDA — Treon Harris proved he’s a more capable quarterback than Jeff Driskel this season at Vanderbilt, rushing for two touchdowns and keeping several more scoring drives alive during a blowout win.
