Auburn University has released a statement detailing their plan to replace the iconic oak trees at Toomer’s Corner just two years after having to cut them down due to poisoning. The plan consists of planting mature trees at the corner of College Street and Magnolia Avenue on February 16, 2015 as well as planting 30 descendent trees in 2016.

Part of the plan is to halt the tradition of rolling the trees for a year in an effort to allow them to acclimate to the new environment.
