The College Football Playoff field is set following the 2023 season! After a wild ride throughout the regular season, a controversial top 6 was unveiled Sunday.

Michigan landed the No. 1 overall spot after a 13-0 record and Big Ten Championship with Washington landing at No. 2 overall after a 13-0 record and Pac-12 title. Those two spots were clear, but the rest of the top 4 turned some heads.

Texas with one loss landed at No. 3 and a similar one-loss Alabama team landed at No. 4. Florida State — as an undefeated Power 5 champion — was left out of the field at No. 5 overall with Georgia dropping all the way to No. 6.

That means the matchups for the CFP semifinals will be Michigan vs. Alabama in a game expected to be played at the Rose Bowl. Washington vs. Texas will be the other matchup and is expected to be played at the Sugar Bowl.

The opening lines for those games provided by DraftKings are also noteworthy. Michigan opened as a -2.5 favorite against Alabama while Washington opened as an underdog to Texas. It was the Longhorns that opened -4.5 for that semifinal game.

A point total was not immediately listed for Alabama vs. Michigan but Texas vs. Washington opened with an over/under of 62.5. Here is how those lines look on DraftKings:
