College football rankings season is officially upon us. After the release of the preseason AP Poll on Monday, ESPN dropped its early 2022 power rankings on Tuesday.
A total of 6 SEC squads — Alabama, Georgia, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Ole Miss and Kentucky — made the cut, alongside some other prominent programs around the country.
As you can see below, Alabama took the top spot. At No. 22, Kentucky was the last SEC team ranked:
- No. 1 — Alabama
- No. 3 — Georgia
- No. 7 — Texas A&M
- No. 17 — Arkansas
- No. 20 — Ole Miss
- No. 22 — Kentucky
Can Alabama remain at No. 1 all throughout the season? Teams like No. 2 Ohio State, No. 3 Georgia and No. 4 Clemson, among others, will be gunning for the Tide’s spot atop the various polls and power rankings.
It should be a fun-filled season once Week 0 officially kicks off on Saturday, Aug. 27.
