Thanks to COVID-19, college football is going to look a lot different in 2020, as 4 Power 5 conferences have already announced they will move to a conference-only model for the season. The Big 12 is the only conference that hasn’t announced that specific news, and it is still considering a 12-game season with a start date of August 29.

The latest conference to announce the news was the SEC. The league announced Thursday it would move to a 10-game conference-only format. Similarly, the ACC announced Wednesday it would move to a 10-game conference schedule plus a one-game non-conference opportunity. The Big Ten and Pac-12 announced conference-only schedules weeks ago.

As things stand right now, below is when every Power 5 conference is slated to start the season. Amazingly, we could have 5 Week 1s, but things are certainly fluid and could look a lot different in the near-future.

  • Big 12: August 29
  • Big Ten: September 5, per this report.
  • ACC: Week of September 7
  • Pac-12: Not before September 19
  • SEC: September 26
