College GameDay upsets Clemson fans with selection for Saturday's guest picker
On ESPN’s College GameDay, the celebrity guest picker traditionally has ties to the host school as a fan or alumnus. This week, the GameDay crew is broadcasting from Clemson ahead of the primetime showdown between Dabo Swinney’s Tigers and the Miami Hurricanes. Saturday’s guest picker, however, is a Miami fan and donor to the Hurricanes athletics program.
ESPN announced Saturday that Alex Rodriguez is the Saturday guest picker.

Some Clemson fans on social media are not happy with ESPN’s selection of A-Rod for Saturday’s guest picker:

@CollegeGameDay Really Gameday? You come to Clemson and choose Arod for the guest picker? SMH!

It’d be one thing if you got a guest picker who doesn’t favor either Gameday team, but A-Rod very obviously favors Miami….and this is Miami’s 3rd (?) time on Gameday this year! What was the thinking behind this? @CollegeGameDay

So Miami got the guest picker in the first true Clemson gameday since 2016…? Keep the disrespect coming. https://t.co/O9d3i7L2SJ

In Clemson and A-Rod, a huge Miami fan is the guest picker? C’mon, Gameday.
