Dylan Lonergan, a notable 4-star quarterback recruit out of Snellville, Georgia (Brookwood), has narrowed his list to 5 schools, and 3 come from the SEC.

Lonergan is the No. 9 rated quarterback recruit in the class of 2023, and the No. 10 overall player in the state of Georgia, according to the 247Sports Composite. Lonergan included Alabama, South Carolina and Florida among his top 5, along with Stanford and Ohio State. He has a reported 26 offers.

Lonergan, who expects to also play baseball in college, shared his thoughts on the schools with Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports.

“These schools definitely showed the most love and made me feel like a priority,” Lonergan said. “I got a great feeling with all the coaches. Thinking next visits will be officials to those five.”

Regarding the Crimson Tide: “Just (Bill) O’Brien being great with quarterbacks and the ability the keep the same offense even though they change offensive coordinators so often. They got three quarterbacks starting in the league right now so not a bad place to be a quarterback.”

Regarding the Gators: “Coach Napier has a good track record with quarterbacks and the baseball program has been great. Also the new facility they are building is incredible.”

Regarding the Gamecocks: “Always feel at home at South Carolina. Coach (Shane) Beamer and (Marcus) Satt(erfield) do a fantastic job. Also love what the baseball program is doing. I’m excited to see where the football program is going.”
