Any die-hard NCAA video game fan could easily recite the EA Sports slogan if asked to do so.

For those of you that are unaware, the game always fired up with “EA Sports, it’s in the game.”

While fans of the series patiently wait for the game’s eventual return, it remains to be seen how closely EA Sports will stick to its motto for the upcoming release of the new EA Sports College Football game when it relates to having actual college football players in the game.

Following the legalization of name, image and likeness across the country, EA Sports has issued a statement on Thursday regarding the company’s efforts to monitor the situation:

“We are watching the recent developments regarding student-athlete name, image and likeness very closely. It’s still very early stages at this point, and we plan to explore the possibility of including players in EA SPORTS College Football. For now, our development team is focused on working with our partners at CLC to ensure the game authentically showcases the great sport of college football and the more than 100 institutions signed on to be featured in our game.”

According to leaked documents, EA Sports is currently planning on releasing EA SPORTS College Football in the summer of 2023.

Considering the NCAA just permitted all colleges athletes to profit from their name, image and likeness, that may have cleared a hurdle EA Sports needed to get real players into the game by its eventual release.
