Is it ever too early for next season’s NFL mock Draft? Not when the SEC regular season is fast approaching, where NFL talent is littered up and down the majority of rosters in college football’s top conference.

Of the 32 players selected in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft, three top-10 picks were former SEC players, those being Florida’s Dante Fowler, Jr., Alabama’s Amari Cooper and Georgia’s Todd Gurley. Overall, there were seven first-round selections from the SEC, including four straight picks from No. 21 to No. 24. Offensive tackle Cedric Ogbuehi (Texas A&M) was selected 21st, followed by Bud Dupree (Kentucky), Shane Ray (Missouri) and D.J. Humphries (Florida).

A 2016 NFL mock draft will give SEC fans a heads-up as to who to look out for while watching during the regular season. SEC football-viewing is made easier through US Dish, which offers SEC Network on DISH as part of packages that start at for $34.99 per month. No one has to miss a moment of SEC football, especially when several of the players being watched regularly on Saturdays may wind up playing in the NFL on Sundays (plus the occasional Thursday and Monday).

According to Sports Illustrated’s mock draft, 11 players from the SEC are currently slated to be selected in the first round of the 2016 NFL draft. The three highest selections, picks No. 5, No. 8 and No. 13, all coming from Ole Miss, in fact. Offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil, wide receiver Laquon Treadwell and defensive end Robert Nkemdiche comprise that trio and will all suit up for the Rebels this season, which is making Ole Miss tickets hot on the secondary market.

Following Nkemdiche at No. 13 overall is Florida’s Vernon Hargreaves III (cornerback) one pick later. There are two other picks in the teens as well, those being D’Haquille Williams at No. 16 (wide receiver, Auburn) and Leonard Floyd at No. 19 (outside linebacker, Georgia).

From picks No. 21 to No. 32 to complete the first round, five more players from the SEC conference are projected to be selected:

No. 21—Germain Ifedi, Offensive Tackle, Texas A&M

No. 22—A’Shawn Robinson, Defensive End, Alabama

No. 23—Jalen Mills, Cornerback/Safety, LSU

No. 26—Jordan Jenkins, Outside Linebacker, Georgia

No. 32—Vadal Alexander, Guard/Tackle, LSU

It will be another talent-filled SEC class heading to the NFL after the college football season wraps up. Of course, these early mock drafts can change with production, or lack thereof, injuries and other unforeseen circumstances. But for now, when SEC fans tune in on Saturdays, they know they’re watching NFL talent on the field before they even get there.
