ESPN called out on social media for showing Aaron Judge home run chase during Auburn-Mizzou game

ESPN is broadcasting the Auburn-Mizzou game on Saturday afternoon, but a decision made by the TV crew is taking heat on social media.
New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge had 60 home runs entering Saturday’s game against the Boston Red Sox. One more would tie him with Roger Maris for the American League’s all-time single-season home run record.
But, let’s just say Auburn and Mizzou fans didn’t seem to care about the chase for history when the ESPN broadcast went split-screen to show both moments.
As you can see below, fans were irate on social media that their SEC football game was interrupted with baseball:
ESPN just cut to Aaron Judge striking out looking with a split screen during the Mizzou-Auburn game, with the Tigers in the red zone……

Wow. Glad to see we went picture-in-picture and interrupt the Auburn game to watch Aaron Judge strike out on 3 pitches.
Never do that again, ESPN.

ESPN split screening Mizzou-Auburn to show Aaron Judge striking out in 36 seconds was the funniest sports moment of 2022.

Judge struck out in his at-bat, so we’ll see what happens next time he comes to the plate. If ESPN does another live look-in, it won’t be popular in SEC country.
