Notre Dame’s upset of Clemson, Texas A&M’s continued winning streak and Florida’s upset of Georgia all led to somewhat of a shake up in the conversation this week of the top teams in America.

ESPN college football analysts Joey Galloway and Jesse Palmer weighed in with their thoughts on the latest edition of “College Football Final.” They had identical top four selections, but Galloway preferred Cincinnati, while Palmer put the Texas A&M Aggies in at No. 5 following their 48-3 drubbing of South Carolina.

“Kellen Mond keeps playing better football,” Palmer said. “They’re looking complete as well. I think they’re a team that could win out. Their win against Florida is looking better now that the Gators have beat Georgia. This is a team I could see getting into the College Football Playoff even if they don’t play in the SEC title game.”

About Alabama, Galloway said, “Mac Jones might be leading for the Heisman right now, with what he’s been able to do without (Jaylen) Waddle.”

Palmer noted that the order of the top teams is likely to change, but host Matt Barrie said he’d sign up for that top 4 at this point.

Barring upsets between now and Championship Weekend, the projected matchups of Notre Dame against Clemson and Florida against Alabama in December should settle the order once and for all.
