Based on the ESPN computer, Ohio State’s chances of winning the national championship this year are rising, but Alabama still has the best odds of taking home the 2019 title.

According to ESPN’s State & Info, Alabama holds a 32 percent chance of winning the national championship. That might not sound that high for Alabama, but for the first time in several years, many experts think there are six or seven legitimate national contenders halfway through the season. With that in mind, about one-third is a very high percentage.

ESPN Stats & Info gave LSU the fifth-highest likelihood of winning the title at seven percent. The Tigers were behind the Crimson Tide, Ohio State, Clemson and Oklahoma.

Alabama and LSU could both end up in the College Football Playoff this year, but they do play each other in the regular season on Nov. 9.
