ESPN's Booger McFarland says 2 teams are College Football Playoff locks after Week 13
After four seasons as an SEC Network analyst (2014-17), Booger McFarland moved to Monday Night Football coverage for ESPN this year. That doesn’t mean the LSU great doesn’t sill follow college football.
The NFL obviously takes up most of McFarland’s time these days, but Sunday morning he shared his thoughts on the College Football Playoff. In the opinion of McFarland the field can be broken down into three categories after Week 13:
- In CFP: Alabama and Notre Dame
- Win and in: Georgia and Clemson
- Need help to get in: Oklahoma and Ohio State
If Alabama loses the conference championship game to Georgia and two SEC teams get in, the SEC haters will have a meltdown for the ages. But McFarland isn’t alone in having Alabama as a lock to make the Playoff. SDS columnist Connor O’Gara said the same after the Iron Bowl. Tony Barnhart also agrees.
Yes. Getting ready to file a column that Alabama is in no matter what happens in Atlanta.https://t.co/54PsJGnzdl https://t.co/pxkEPnv61N
