Down the stretch of the season, the Heisman Trophy race seemed to be between Colorado DB/WR Travis Hunter and Boise State RB Ashton Jeanty. In fact, it seems likely that 1 of those 2 superstars will win.
But now we know who will be in attendance in New York City on Saturday, Dec. 14, for the Heisman Trophy ceremony.
Per a release on Monday night, Hunter and Jeanty are indeed finalists. They’ll be joined in New York by Miami QB Cam Ward and Oregon QB Dillon Gabriel.
Here’s the official release from the Heisman Trophy account on X:
Jeanty has been incredible for the Broncos, posting 2,497 rush yards and 29 touchdowns on the ground while adding 20 catches for 116 yards and another score.
Hunter is doing something we haven’t seen in college football for a long time, playing both offense and defense at a high level. He has 92 catches for 1,152 yards and 15 total touchdowns on offense, while recording 31 tackles, 4 interceptions and 1 forced fumble defensively.
Gabriel, the QB for the undefeated No. 1 Ducks, has thrown for 3,558 yards, 28 touchdowns and only 6 interceptions. He has 192 yards and 7 touchdowns as a runner.
Ward has thrown for 4,123 yards, 36 touchdowns and 7 interceptions while adding 196 yards and 4 scores on the ground.
Jeanty and Gabriel will both play in the College Football Playoff, with Boise State and Oregon both earning byes.
The Heisman Trophy ceremony will air at 8 p.m. ET on Saturday night on ESPN.
